General Office Policies
The Paperless Electronic Medical Records System - Patient's demographic and medical records are entered in a secure computer server. All laboratory and x-ray results are tabulated in the electronic records. At the time of check out, printed instructions, prescriptions and work excuses are automatically printed and waiting, office notes are typed and immediately available for the patient, and letters to referring physicians are immediately mailed or faxed. There is no longer any time spent looking for charts or deciphering handwriting. This technology greatly reduces waiting time and allows more time for patients to spend with Dr. Shapiro and his staff.
Billing & Cancellation Policies: Payment for services is due in full at the time of service. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, or local personal check. Any care not covered by your insurance will require payment in full at the time services are rendered. We participate with Virgin Islands Equicare and Medicare. Patients are responsible for all charges not covered or reimbursed by other insurances.
