pH Probe Monitoring for Acid Reflux
For patients with acid reflux, we offer monitoring using the Bravo pH Probe and the Restech DX-ph Probe. These tests identify when, and for how long, stomach acid regurgitates into the esophagus or larynx. The tests are ambulatory in nature so the patient can conduct normal activities as the probe measures acid levels throughout the day. Essentially, the pH probe is attached to the lower portion of the esophagus or the back of the nose using a special tube. The probe is then removed after the test is completed.
